SOMETIMES, WE DON'T REALIZE HOW MUCH WE'VE BEEN CARRYING...
until we decide to set it down. This week inside Heal to Inspire to Shine, I invited our community to pause, breathe, and check in with what’s been draining your energy — emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually.
I know firsthand how heavy it feels to carry burdens that aren’t yours to carry. After my divorce, I was stretched thin emotionally, mentally, and financially trying to “make it work” in relationships, in life, and even with myself. I didn’t realize how much I was holding onto until I finally allowed myself to stop, breathe, and ask, “What am I really carrying, and why?” That moment of recognition was the start of my own Release Reset. I learned that when we intentionally pause, reflect, and release, we don’t just lighten our load we make space for peace, clarity, and the love we truly deserve.
THE RELEASE RESET
The Release Reset isn’t about giving up; it’s about giving yourself permission to let go of what no longer aligns with the woman you’re becoming. Whether it’s emotional clutter, old expectations, or a pace that keeps you in survival mode this is your reminder that rest is not laziness. It’s stewardship of your peace.
We talked about my 3-Step Release Tool
Recognize what’s been draining you.
Reframe how you’ve been viewing it ask, “What is this teaching me?”
Release it in prayer, journaling, or stillness — whatever helps you truly let it go.
As Matthew 11:28 reminds us:
“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
#1 RECOGNIZE WHAT'S DRAINING YOU
Before you can release anything, you have to see it clearly. Emotional, mental, or spiritual drains often hide in plain sight like stress from people-pleasing, lingering resentment, or unrealistic expectations. Recognition is the first step toward freedom.
YOUR ACTION STEP:
Grab your journal or a piece of paper.
List everything that feels heavy, exhausting, or out of alignment this week. Be honest—even small things count.
Next to each item, write how it makes you feel in your body and mind. Notice the impact of carrying it.
#2 REFRAME YOUR PERSPECTIVE
Release isn’t just about letting go; it’s about understanding the lesson in what you’ve been holding onto. Shifting your perspective transforms emotional weight into growth.
YOUR ACTION STEP:
Take one item from your “draining” list.
Ask yourself: “What is this teaching me? What does God want me to see or learn here?”
Write down any insights, even if they feel small. Reframing helps you replace frustration with understanding, and heaviness with clarity.
#3 RELEASE WITH INTENTION
Now it’s time to physically and spiritually let go. This step isn’t passive—it’s an active choice to protect your peace. Release can happen through prayer, journaling, meditation, or even a symbolic act like writing it down and burning the paper.
YOUR ACTION STEP:
Choose a release method that resonates with you:
Prayer: Speak it aloud to God, asking for strength to release.
Journaling: Write a letter letting it go, then close the page with gratitude.
Stillness or Meditation: Sit in quiet reflection, imagining the weight lifting from your shoulders.
Sis, God never meant for you to carry everything alone. Sometimes healing starts with surrender not because you’re weak, but because you’re wise enough to know your peace is worth protecting.
So, take a few quiet moments this week to check in with your heart. What are you ready to release this fall? And more importantly… what peace are you ready to receive in return?
Midweek Reset Reflection Prompt:
